Multivariable Control of a Coupled Drives Process with Decoupling Controllers

چکیده
The paper is focused on an application of self – tuning decoupling controllers for real – time control of a multivariable coupled drives apparatus. The controlled apparatus is a multivariable nonlinear system. Two control algorithms based on polynomial theory and pole – placement are proposed. Decoupling compensators are used to suppress interactions between control loops. The controllers integrate an on – line identification of an ARX model of a controlled system and a control synthesis on the basis of the identified parameters. The model parameters are recursively estimated using the recursive least squares method with the directional forgetting. Key-Words: multivariable control, control algorithms, adaptive control, polynomial methods, pole assignment, recursive identification, nonlinear systems

Decentralized Fuzzy-PID Based Control Model for a Multivariable Liquid Level System
Multivariable liquid level control is essential in process industries to ensure quality of the product and safety of the equipment. However, the significant problems of the control system include excessive time consumption and percentage overshoot, which result from ineffective performance of the tuning methods of the PID controllers used for the system. In this paper, fuzzy logic was used to t...
متن کاملA New Procedure for a Special Kind of Multivariable Systems Decoupling. Application to the Primary Mirror of a Large Scale Telescope
In this paper, the general lines of a procedure designed for the decoupling of a multivariable plant, the Gran Telescopio Canarias’s primary mirror, is presented. This procedure consists of an appropriate change in the system eigenvectors. This has a great significance from the system active control point of view since it converts the problem of designing a multivariable controller for a strong...
متن کاملMultivariable PID control by inverted decoupling: Application to the Benchmark PID 2012
This paper deals with the boiler control problem proposed as a benchmark for the IFAC Conference on Advances in PID Controllers (PID’12). This boiling process is a multivariable nonlinear system that shows interactions and is subjected to input constraints. As proposal, in this work, a PID control by inverted decoupling with feedforward compensation is developed. The design simplicity and easin...
متن کاملDecentralised control of a quadruple tank plant with a decoupled event-based strategy
In this work we focus on the development of a software tool, which allows users to perform experiments with event-based PI controllers in a multivariable system composed of four coupled tanks. The quadruple tank plant allows the student of control engineering to experiment and obtain an intuitive knowledge about multivariable systems (systems with more than one inputs and more than one outputs)...
متن کاملDecoupled Smith predictor for multivariable nonsquare systems with multiple time delays
The classical multivariable Smith predictor is extended to multivariable nonsquare systems with multiple time delays where the number of process inputs is higher than the process outputs. Pairing for input and output variables is carried out using the block relative gain technique. Simplified decoupling method is applied to design the decouplers. The decoupled processes are modeled as first-ord...
